A few days ago, I posted in the Daily Question thread about games that are good for 30 second to 5 minute play sessions.I got a ton of responses, everyone suggesting great games like Celeste, Golf Story, Picross.but nobody mentioned Quest of Dungeons! The demo released yesterday, so I quickly installed and played it. After 2 run-throughs I purchased the full game ($8.99, great price) and it perfectly satisfies my itch. It's a true roguelike - the only similar example I've played is the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games where nothing happens (no enemies move/attack) unless you move/attack. It's also extremely fast paced (if you want) plus menus and load times are very quick. It is very easy to pick it up, clear out a few rooms over the course of a minute or so, then put it down! And you wouldn't even need to put your Switch in sleep mode (unless you care about battery or are not going to play anytime soon) because nothing is going to happen unless you're playing.Just want to say that if you're like me and you want a game that's playable in very short timespans, Quest of Dungeons may be for you!
Especially for $8.99, I'd recommend it regardless. Idk, I just find this game so boring. I tried do get into the demo. This is the second chance I gave this game (tried it on PC before) but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Personally I'd recommend Yodanji but that has no demo and it's also a lot difficult the first time you play, especially if you are new to the genre. I wish I had something more. Constructive to say but I can't really put it into words why I'm not liking it.
The only reason I even tried Yodanji though was because I love Yokai so I guess I was biased from the start.
